Power, Endurance, Grit—Train for Hyrox Success
Hyrox training is a specific type of CrossFit training. Everything included in Hyrox (sled push, sled pull, rowing, ski erg, sandbag lunges, burpee broad jumps, farmer carries, wall balls, and running) is also included in CrossFit. What makes Hyrox classes different is what is not included: barbells, gymnastics, and other more technical CrossFit exercises.

Who takes Hyrox Classes at CrossFit NYC
Our CrossFit (Hyrox Metcon) classes are open to everyone and have no prerequisites. We offer one free trial class, so you can start right away. (You’ll get a link to schedule a trial class when you Get Started.)
CrossFit develops ten components of fitness: cardio, strength, stamina, flexibility (developed through training); coordination, agility, accuracy and balance (developed through practice); speed and power (requiring both training and practice). Hyrox classes involve only the first four skills, so it’s all training and minimal practice.
Some of our members say CrossFit is like “school” and Hyrox is like “recess.” On Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, you’ll find the “school yard” at CrossFit NYC Upper West Side all set up and waiting for you. (Upper West Side members also have access to Sunday Hyrox classes at our Flatiron location).
