CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into world-class shape. Our workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity (like push ups and pull ups, deadlifts and squats, gymnastics, kettlebells, running, rowing, and olympic lifting).
We’re at 44 W. 28th St., 2nd floor, between 6th Ave and Broadway. The closest subways are the N or R at 28th St. (& Broadway), the 6 at 28th St. (& Park Ave. South), the F or M at 23rd St. (& Sixth Ave.) and the 1 at 28th St. (& 7th Ave.).
CrossFit is for anyone, regardless of their age or fitness level. Our members range from professional athletes and members of the New York FBI SWAT Team to grandfathers in their mid-seventies and desk jockeys with barely enough hand-eye coordination to use a mouse. In short, if you care about health, real-world performance, or just want to look better naked, CrossFit is for you.
We promise you’ll be totally fine. Trust us.
However, if you’re still nervous about getting started, feel free to drop by and talk with a member of Reception who will show you around the gym.
While we are not physicians (and we highly recommend you discuss any workout program with yours), we do find that many of our members have successfully used CrossFit to rehabilitate from injuries. Because people continue to move, work, and play in the real world regardless of injury history, we believe the best route to long-term health is to learn perfect form on functional movements, and to slowly build strength in those movements, rather than to avoid them altogether. Our instructors are always happy to work with you to scale and substitute exercises and tailor workouts to your abilities. That said, we cannot offer you specific medical advice, and advise that you consult your physician before starting this (or any other) exercise program.
Just yourself. And basic ‘workout clothes’: shorts or sweats, a t-shirt, sneakers. We provide everything else.
Yes! Most of our coaches offer independent personal training sessions. Each coach sets their own training rates and schedules. If you are interested in learning more about what our coaches off, you can check out our Staff page to read their bios. If you see a coach that looks like a good match, feel free to contact them by email.
Please note, you do not need to be a member to do personal training at CrossFit NYC.
