Reminder! Our first Gymnastics class at 28th st starts Thursday night with Coach Stephanie.
Upcoming Events and News:
- Starting January 9th, CFNYC will be offering a CrossFit Gymnastics class at both gym locations with Coach Stephanie. The one hour specialty class will be held at the UWS on Wednesday nights at 7:30 PM and at 28th Street on Thursday nights at 6:30 PM. The class programming will run on a four week cycle, focusing on one specific gymnastics element before moving onto the next one. The first monthly cycle will be starting with the skill: HANDSTANDS! For the next 4 weeks we will work on drills to develop strength, proper body position and technique for a better handstand. Please come prepared to do a dynamic warm-up, skill-building drills and progressions and a quick bodyweight WOD or EMOM at the end of each class.A little bit about Coach Steph’s gymnastics background: Stephanie was a Level 10 Junior Olympic competitive gymnast and was named All-American at USAG Collegiate National Championships for Cornell University as a sophomore. After retiring from gymnastics in 2005, she dabbled in marathons and triathlons to stay fit but didn’t really enjoy exercising until she found Crossfit in November of 2014. Stephanie was a member of CFNYC’s Comp Team for two years before joining the Manhattan Barbell Team to compete in Olympic Weightlifting.
