Calling all teens!
Coach Erica here – I will be leading a nutrition seminar for teens on Wednesday, November 8th at 5:30 pm at Upper West Side. We will explore the basics of sound nutrition. You’ll learn about what to eat, how much to eat, and how to time your meals based on your specific goals in and out of the gym. Whether you’re aiming to be a top level athlete or simply to eat well and feel good, this seminar is right for you.
You’ll learn what macro and micro nutrients are and the differences in their structure and function in your diet. You’ll also learn how to then build balanced meals by manipulating these nutrients. I’ll then explain causes of inflammation and how it can affect your overall energy and well being. We’ll use our new found knowledge of nutrition and other recovery tools (i.e. sleep, exercise) to learn how to control and reduce inflammation.
Lastly, we’ll talk about how to incorporate everything you’ve learned into your daily life, along with time to answer your questions at the end. So come with questions and will even have some healthy snacks courtesy of Kettlebell Kitchen, our Paleo food delivery service, available at both of our gym locations. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.
