Say Cheese

Hi Everyone,

I’m a photographer and I’ve been itching to bring a large format camera to the box to take advantage of those awesome north facing windows at 28th street. Well, Josh, Hari, and Court have been kind enough to let me set up a makeshift studio there this coming Tuesday (March 19th) and Wednesday (March 20th) from 9am until 4:30pm and I’ll be making portraits of CrossFit athletes. Before your workout or after, in your street clothes or straight from the WOD still dripping with sweat, (or even both) I don’t care. I’m interested in the people I’ve been crossfitting with and want to capture you on film. Time permitting, I may also incorporate a brief video interview into each sitting.

Black Box WOD/Beginner WOD:
[Black Box scaling:] A1: 3×1.1 split jerk with 3-second pause at bottom of the dip–rest 10 seconds between cluster; A2: Lateral lunge with KB pulse 3×4/side. B: 3 rounds for time: 25 KB swings (2 pood / 1.5 pood), 25 burpees.

[Beginner scaling:] A1: 1 push jerk + 1 split jerk x5 sets – 3 sec. pause @ bottom of the dip; A2: Lateral lunge w/ KB pulse 3×4/side. B: 3 rounds for time: 20 Russian KB swings (1.5 pood / 1 pood), 20 burpees.

CFE WOD:
16 minutes, every minute on the minute:
10 air squats
3 burpees
50m shuttle sprint

Here’s what’s on tap for Tuesday’s classes:

Black Box WOD/Beginner WOD:
[Black Box scaling:] A1: Front squat 3×5 w/3-sec pause on 1st and 5th reps; A2: Pullup 3×10 (add weight if needed). B: Every minute for 12 minutes: x3 squat clean thruster.

[Beginner scaling:] A1: Front squat 3×6-8; A2: Pullup 3×8-12 (scale to negatives or partner pullups). B: Every minute for 10 minutes: x3 squat clean thruster.

CFE WOD:
400m time trial followed by 6X200m sprints.
