Ben’s athletic endeavors began with wrestling in high school then during college he transformed into a stereotypical gym rat using only free weights and machines. After earning a degree in Accounting from the University of Hartford in Connecticut, he moved to New York City and became a committed long distance runner.
Though Ben ran races and loved running, he wanted a more challenging and diverse workout routine. Ben discovered CrossFit New York City after an exhaustive search for a different kind of workout. After his first class at CFNYC, he was shocked with how many things he struggled with as he had always considered himself physically fit. He fell in love with the balance of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio in many of the workouts and set a goal to master many of the diverse CrossFit movements he had never done before.
Several years later, after attending many classes and performing countless WODs, Ben has transitioned to a Coach at CFNYC. Ben’s passion and enthusiasm for CrossFit NYC is genuine. He specializes in working with Beginners who struggle with benchmark movements, but coaches athletes of all levels. He finds nothing more rewarding than helping others reach their goals through CrossFit training.
