Getting Started at CrossFit NYC
We know CrossFit has an intimidating reputation, so we’ve created a smooth on-ramp process for new members:
1. Take a Free Intro Class
A free Intro class is the first step in deciding whether CrossFit NYC is right for you. You don’t need to “get in shape” to attend a free intro class, as we’ve scaled them to be friendly and accessible for any fitness level. You can register for a class here, then simply show up. We have full locker-rooms, showers and towel service at 28th Street; we’ll have showers at Columbus Avenue shortly, once construction there is completed by fall 2014.
2. Sign Up
To keep going after your Free Intro, join CrossFit NYC!
Our pricing is fair, simple, and straightforward: we charge $199 per month ($149 “Off Peak”) with no contracts, no initiation fees, and no cancellation fees.
And, yes, we’re the best-priced CrossFit box in New York City.

Off Peak Hours = Includes over 150 classes per week, weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (ending at 6:30 PM) and all weekend classes.
3. Complete Elements
Our Free Intro is actually Class 1 of our six class Elements on-ramp series, which teaches the basics of CrossFit in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Once you’ve signed up as a member, you can complete the other five Elements classes (Class 2 through Class 6) at your own pace.
We offer each class a dozen times throughout the week. You’re welcome to repeat any of those classes as often as you’d like. We recommend completing them in order, though it’s okay to jump around a bit if you need. There’s no special charge for Elements – it’s included in your monthly membership.
4. Hit the WOD
Once you’ve taken all six Elements classes, talk to our front desk, so they can set you up with permission to take regular WOD (or Workout of the Day) classes. We have WODs in a bunch of levels, and we promise our Beginner WODs are a no more terrifying than Elements classes!
If you are transplanting from another CrossFit affiliate, and have completed a comparable level of CrossFit-specific training, you may be able to skip Elements. Please email us to let us know about your background, or come in to speak with our front desk.
If you’re returning to CFNYC after time off, we’d recommend you consider taking Elements Class 2 through Class 6 again first, both as a refresher and an opportunity to ramp back up the intensity.
