HOW TO: Clean & Jerk with Coach Brian

How To: Clean & Jerk will be taking place on Sunday August 24th at 28th St on the 4th floor. There are sesssions at 9am, 10am, and 11am. Registration will open for the classes 5 days prior, as with our regularly scheduled WODs. Due to the complexity of the movement, Brian has capped these classes at 14 people to allow for ample one-on-one attention.

Coach Brian says: “There will be lecture coinciding with practice. My goal is for everyone to have a basic understanding of the Olympic lifts, what they are, and the basic ability to perform the lift itself without needing a review. It is not required, but highly encouraged to read up on the clean and jerk (and weightlifting) via Catalyst Athletics, FirstPull.net, or any other internet resource out there on Olympic lifting.” Athletes must arrive early to warm up on their own. There will be space for warming up on the 4th floor.

Our Events now have wait lists (yay!) AND the same ‘no show’ policy that applies to our regular classes. If you sign up, make sure to show up or cancel over an hour in advance. As always the How To seminars are free for our members.

    Would it be possible for CFNYC to record (or share some basic notes from) these special sessions? I can’t make the session but I would love to hear what Brian has to say!

      Unfortunately, as of now, we are not recording them. We are however running these sessions bi-annually, so with any luck, you’ll be able to make the next one!

    All three “how to” classes for Sunday are full (w/ full waitlists). Any chance of putting on one addt’l class? If waitlist is still full an hour in advance of class any point in coming?
