With the weather turning warm, now seems the perfect time to launch our new and expanded CFNYC Running program, headed up by the newest addition to our coaching staff, Heidi Jones.
We’re expanding our program in the morning first, adding nine running WODs per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, and 8:00 AM.
The classes will follow the CrossFit Endurance protocol of one short interval WOD, one long interval WOD and one tempo (distance) WOD per week. Like our indoor classes, our running classes will all have a warm-up, some skill work, a WOD, and then a cool-down or cash-out. Most importantly, they’ll focus on not just running faster or longer, but running better – with less effort, and fewer injuries.
Running WODs will stay free for our members, but cost $10 a session or $100 a month for anyone else.
Because running well – and POSE running in particular – is a skill, we’re also adding a new (R)Elements (i.e., ‘Running Elements’) program, to teach the basics of perfect running technique. (R)Elements is a four-class series, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
Like regular Elements, we’re capping (R)Elements classes at six students. The price is $199.
To help get the new program off the ground, we’re giving our members 50% off on the first few (R)Elements classes:
The discounted first four Running Elements will meet at 44 West 28th St. on:
June 5, 7, 12, and 14 at 6:00 AM
June 5, 7, 12, and 14 at 8:00 AM
June 19, 21, 26, and 28 at 6:00 AM
June 19, 21, 26, and 28 at 8:00 AM
Finally, we’ll be adding free Intro (R)Elements classes at 7:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for anyone looking to dip a toe in the water before hopping in. (These will meet up at 44 West 28th St., as well.)
Evening folks, stay tuned; if we can get this off to a good start, we’ll be mirroring the same classes in the evening, too. If you have any questions, post them to comments.
