Has anyone else hooked grip so tightly that some of the ligaments in the thumb feel tingly to the touch a few days later?

    • I only experience this when I use a hook grip on a heavy deadlift. Are you supposed to hook grip for deadlifts?

      • Anonymous

Happened to me after heavy cleans.  I usually don’t hook grip my deadlifts. Weird…

    • Sean M

      Yes. It goes away.

      • Anonymous

        Good to know!

    • The_Lisa

Yes it has happened me too, just this year for some reason, and only on my right thumb. I rested it when I could and tried not to do heavy cleans (deadlifts did not bother it). The pain does go away.

  • Guys not sure why the schedule says on :40 and :30 above.  It should be normal Sunday schedule as far as I know at 26th and 28th (26th is on the hour and 28th is :20 on the hour).

    Thanks! Avery

    • Anonymous

Thanks, Avery. Is the Tyler WOD on the hour or the :20?

      • Hari

That was the general heading for the week’s programming that listed the WOD’s that would be going on at 0:20 and 0:30 after the hour (today that’s only 0:20 after the hour) and the WOD’s that will be going on on the hour and at 40 after the hour (today that’s only on the hour).

        On a typical weekday, “WOD’s at HR:20 and HR:30” will refer to the 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 5:20 PM, 6:20 PM, 7:20 PM, and 8:20 PM WOD’s.

        “WOD’s at HR:00 and HR:40” will refer to 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 5:40 PM, 6:00 PM, 6:40 PM, 7:00 PM, 7:40 PM, and 8:00 PM

        • Hari

Today, “HR:20 and HR:30” refers to the 9:20 AM, 10:20 AM, 11:20 AM, and 12:20 PM; and “HR:00, HR:40” refers to the 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM

             Thanks for clarifying, Hari!

    • CT

So confused. Can I do 12.5 at 1 pm? Wasn’t that the schedule in past weeks?

      • Steve Slo

Yeah, do it RX’d at 26th street.

  • Malcolm

    12.5:  75 reps

Thanks Matt for keeping me moving and nice work on day 2

    • Malcolm

My score is still not validated online – is there something else I need to do?  Matt wrote my score in the notepad at 28th.  Thanks.

        Get ready

Guys seriously it is time to bring the website into the 21st century. This morning’s schedule was fubar, and having to scroll through comments to find out the latest updates isn’t really effective.
Maybe it will be easier now that the Game WODs are over, but that Zen planner doesn’t really work when there are 3+ classes each hour. Thanks.

    • Hari

We will be adding a separate link to a more readable schedule over the next week. In addition, we will include a copy of the latest schedule in future newsletters.

(For those of you who may appreciate a more complete explanation, we have been juggling our own programming to coincide with the Open WOD’s as they were announced. In addition, we have been trying to accommodate people by allowing them to do the Open WOD’s in the maximum number of time slots, while also providing our own programming for people who are done with the Open WOD’s and/or want an alternative.)

      • Allan R

        We have a newsletter?

      • Michael North

If you select “List” in the top right corner in Zen Planner it is much more readable. Maybe that should be the default?

Some of the locations are incorrect (I think). 5:20pm shows 26th St.  Mobility WOD shows 26th St also (not sure about location).

        • Hari

I clicked on all five weeknight 5:20 PM WOD’s and they all say 28 Street. We no longer have a Mobility WOD, and I don’t see one listed.

          • Michael North

I am looking in the “list” view.  In the right hand column it has “The Box” next to 5:20pm slot. Also in the “list” view there is a MobilityWOD on Monday’s.  Hope this clarifies.

          • Hari

Now I see it and will soon have fixed. Thanks.

  • Sorry for the confusion with what I posted with regards to class times today–I had gotten confused by the schedule the owners had sent me and it was pretty late and I was tired when I posted this last night.

Glad to see that coaches/owners were able to comment to clarify things and this issue shouldn’t arise again.  As far as Zen Planner for our calendar needs goes, that will most likely be a work in progress but I do know that a complete printed-out schedule has been posted at 26th St. (and I presume also at 28th St.).  If anyone has ideas for a better online calendar, please feel free to let the owners know or comment here!  Thanks.

    • Hari

WOD’s that start on the hour and only WOD’s that start on the hour are at 26 Street.

WOD’s that start at 20, 30, or 40 after the hour and only WOD’s that start at 20, 30, or 40 minutes after the hour are at 28 Street.

The schedule I sent you has two columns: one on the left for the WOD’s that start at 20 and/or 30 after the hour and one on the right for the WOD’s that start on the hour and/or 40 past the hour.

    Partner WOD with Athlete Nick:

    4 Rounds:
    Row 250m
    10 Pull-Ups
    10 Thrusters 95lb
    Run 300m
Rest (while other Athlete completes the circuit)

    Mathlete Dickie: 5:01 / 5:14 / 5:24 / 5:06
    Athlete Nick: 3:25 / 3:21 / 3:34 / 3:25

    (Sorry ladies, he’s taken!)

Lots of fun!  My first time back with 95lb thrusters post-shoulder injury.  I’ll let NW speak for his own experience.

      Well done, M/athletes!!

    • That was a fun WOD. I really like the interval programming. As Woody was explaining to me this morning, the rest between sets allows you to go ballz out every interval with the goal of equaling or beating your previous time. As you can see, Dickie and I were moving at a pretty consistent clip all four rounds.

      • Anonymous

I was thinking about that.  In the limit, as both athletes’ ballz are gone, the rest interval approaches 0 and so you approach a continuous 4 round workout, which would be BRUTAL.  For me, I tried to jog it out, which is my strategy for long met cons.  For the life of me, I can’t figure out why my 4th round was my tastes.  Maybe I got all the sand out of the V.

    12.5. 78

Crushed the thrusters, pull ups not so much

  • Matt M.

    12.5 – 89 (plus 3 from yesterday)

    • Nice job man. Good to see you out of that boot. Now you just need to do a few calf raises to get that leg back to normal 🙂

Hey, thanks for the faux-jump.  Always fun to be assaulted on the streets by sweaty men.  Congrats on the WOD!

    • Rory

      Thats it? What a slouch
🙂 way to get back after it

Very nice work, and welcome back 2-legged Matt!  I’m still chasing 1-legged Matt’s stats…back to reality, I guess.
