  • Been doing Starting Strength w/Steve L., Craig P. & Sam G. for about a bit, so have been taking a WOD break. 

    On the downside: Angie took 20:30, and left me with the lungs of an 85-year-old smoker. 

    On the upside: I have put an even hundred pounds on my 5RM squat in a month and a half, as of yesterday’s 3×5 @ 285

    A: groups of 3’s 45 55 55 55 55 65 45
    B: Not sure what happened here but I dnf’d it. I started at 105lbs and did 11 ring dips in the first two rounds and then just gassed out. I dropped the weight to 95lbs and for the rest of the way through only managed to get 3 cleans per round before the minute was up. I didn’t expect this one to be a gut check, but the squat cleans fast just winded me. Anyway, did another 20 ring dips at the end just because I was so pissed.

    On a brighter note. Went for a physical today and my blood pressure was 120/72 with a 49bpm resting heart rate, so despite the evidence of that WOD, I’m not dead yet. Blood work is tomorrow. Hoping to find out that the PHD is working its magic on my numbers.
