        You are probably just not deadlifting enough, you would probably benefit from a little strength training blah blah blah.

        Squat higher then dead, I’ve seen it before, but many things factor into deadlifts, rest, recover, form ext you would be suprised how much you pull on a good day.

        Its not that much lower, and its really easy to have an off day for deadlifts… especially early in the AM, and even more so if you did the past few days WODs. Also, maybe you just have your squat technique more dialed in than your deadlift technique.

        Last time I did any sort of a total, I PRd my squat and bench, but was 25lbs off on my deadlift, a weight I had done for 3 before without much trouble, and it felt terrible for just a single. Stuff like that happens

    Also, if anyone is into Off-Off Broadway, there’s a play in my show this weekend about a performer’s visit to Europe where he asks audience members to join him on stage to do push ups until failure. No one has ever made it 2 minutes. (Also, no one hits the stage with their chest, but maybe my standards are too high. For non-Crossfitters.) I think it would be Epic to see some people get up there and kill it. Just sayin’.

    It’s killing me having to sit out the Total. I think I sprained my butt yesterday. Lots of rolling, icing & lacrosse ball work hasn’t really brought it around, and I figured lifting thousands of pounds with my posterior chain would not be the best medicine. Resting today, and hoping to be ready for some Filth. Nice job on the PRs everyone…you are all animals!

      We have 200 of a new design on order. Once these come in, we do not expect to run out again.

      from now on, we will probably do a single run of about 200 and then retire the design. Also, we will now carry women’s tank tops.

      Now, all we need to do is figure out why the 120 toweles we ordered nearly 2 weeks ago have not arrived.

      I’ve not heard of eating baby food — I’ve heard of eating yams, and that seemed to be the easiest way to get them to a workout without me having to cook. :-)

    In continuation about kipping from yesterday’s comments:

    If you can only do 5 kipping pull ups at a time and can’t continue due to uncontrolled flailing, it most likely has to do with the stretch at the bottom as Brett mentioned. What’s going to facilitate getting that stretch is making sure you push away at the top of the pull up to re-generate horizontal momentum.

    Also, persistent aggressiveness of the hip snap (the actual kip itself) is an integral component of doing prolonged sets as it vital for controlling balance as the reps increase.

      you could also just microwave a sweet potato for 5 min the night before and bring that to eat. Much cheaper too.
