Indoors or out?

There are two training options for today, Sunday, August 7th.

We are doing a “Park WOD” in Central Park at the Ross Pinetum Playground at 11am with an optional brunch to follow. The WOD itself is a surprise. Details at the link provided.

Update: In our early days, we worked out at the park, rain or shine, as we had no other options. But, truth be told, rainy morning park WODs are pretty miserable, and end up with a crowd far too muddy to be allowed in the door of any restaurant serving brunch. Therefore, we’re rain-checking the park WOD to August 21st.

Then there’s the WOD at the gym (10am, 11am, noon, 1pm start times, as per the usual Sunday schedule):

A: Sumo Deadlift High Pull and Power Snatch Practice

B: WOD (Courtesy of 2010 Games NY-NJ Sectionals)

30 Chest-to-bar Pull-Ups
30 Power Snatches
30 Toes-To-bar
30 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls

Post Elements: 75/53 lbs, 16/12 kg

Is the park WOD rain or shine?

    • Just updated the post. I think we’re rain checking to the 21st. While it’s certainly possible to work out in the rain, from past experience, it goes from fun / comical to unpleasant pretty quickly.

      • Wayne

Sorry – I’m not clear – does this mean we’re not meeting today, or that it will depend on conditions at 11 AM?

        • Not meeting today.

According to all the forecasts I’ve been able to round up, the weather’s likely to worsen through the late morning and early afternoon, so I suspect we’ll be in for a less-than-fun couple of hours even if it still looks somewhat clear at 10:30.

Not to be a party pooper and selfush but can it rain on the 21st so It gets pushed back to the 28th? Josh I am being catty

I narrowly avoided doing burpees alone in Central Park. Does anyone have the contact information for the others who RSVP’d so they know the park WOD was cancelled?

    • Great point. Emailed the rest of the folks on the RSVP list.

  • Also, it appears I can single-handedly change the weather, turning thunderstorms to fair skies just by canceling WODs.
