Is it possible to have a 11a-12p class or open gym during the weekdays? This would work well for my work schedule. I realize that there has to be a demand for it, but I hope this post is taken into consideration. Thank you.

  • Hari

We are in the process of shifting the weeknight Beginners and Elements classes to start at or after 7:00 PM. This will enable us to create a full one-hour WOD at 6:00 PM. Our sense is that this will reduce crowding during the 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM WOD’s. If we do implement a 6:00 PM WOD Mon-Thurs, the start of Open Gym hours will be 7:00 PM.
    Your thoughts?

  • 6pm!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  • Hari

    Your comment is noted.

  • Derrick

6pm would be spot on for me, too.

  • Other Grace

There would be a 5:30, 6:00, 6:30 WOD, with Open Gym from 7:00pm on? Sounds great to me!

  • Adam R

Any chance we could do this WOD as a group on the Westside highway running track or one of the east side parks? I’d rather not run over any people on 26th Street.

  • kj

Been doing a lot of running down at LBI. Mostly long, sweaty runs.
Did this by the ocean using recently calibrated NikePlus technology. 1.34 miles never felt so tough!

  • Lisa

I would rather do this on a track or bikepath after work this evening (overslept this morning or would have done this on the track near my house). West Side Highway works better for me but if we get a group together then that would be fun wherever we meet.
I can meet from 18:30 onwards.

  • Simon P

I’ll be doing this over the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, in Riverside Park. Two a day! Enjoying a little rest, looking at my log, I’ve worked out just about every day for the last couple weeks.

  • Levi

I have to admit I really like the 6:00 PM express wod. I like the flexibility and convenience of being able to get in, get the wod done, and get out. It’s not that I don’t enjoy all of you and the copious amounts of chalk powder I get to inhale, because I do. I really do. I just want to get in and get out and the 6 PM spot works perfectly.

(Sorry I forgot to post the reminder earlier.)

  • Jai

6pm full WOD sounds good to me.

  • Tim B

If anyone wants to run in central park at 7 I’m either doing Tosh or
45 sec on, 45 sec off, 1:30 on, 1:30 off, 3 min on, 3 min off, 6 min on, 6 min off, 3min on, 3 min off, 1:30 on, 1:30 off, 45 sec on
    at 7pm

  • Billy

Running on the south side of 26th street is not bad, heading towards Broadway then south seems to be less crowded. How about Madison Square Park? The north and east sidewalks are usually clear.

  • Rob

I too would like to see an 11am class/open gym option too.

  • Jeff

Is the gym itself open tonight?

  • Jai

Tim B., where in Central Park would be best to meet? The usual Tuesday spot near Columbus Circle?
And in other news, this is fitness innovation I can get behind. Possible WasteFest accessory?

  • Rickey

Lisa, Tim and I are meeting on 72st & CPW (NE corner) at 7pm tonight for a running wod.
All are welcome. More the merrier.

  • Justin T

Just curious, any other CFNYCers doing the NYC triathlon this Sunday?

  • Koegler (KEG-ler)

Who is ready for the Games to begin? I know I am.
Who do you think is going win? My money is on Mikko for a repeat. I realize it is easy to pick him, but if you look at the competitors stats he is easily number 1. His Fight Gone bad is listed at 527. Anyone think that is a mistake?

  • mike n.

    2800m – 18:40

  • Bryce

I predict this year’s Games will be much more technical, stuff like ring HSPU’s, snatch complex, double-unders, etc. I think there will be less focus on strength; we saw a lot of that at sectionals and regionals, but I think this weekend will break that trend.
Spealler for the men and my old coach Kris Clever for the gals.

  • Lenny

I pick Rob Orlando for the men and for the ladies I like Iceland Annie T. Anyone else want to pony up your picks for the Games this weekend?

  • Martin

For me 6pm 1 hour WOD is a good idea to ease early evening rush
Wasn’t that also the idea of the 6.40pm express WOD? That seemed to work as well.

  • Eric

    2800m (7 rounds)
