Mike - Nice LSA. BTW, I achieved LSA on the plane to Europe, aka "LSA Over the Atlantic". Looks like I've missed some good workouts. And while I would never avoid running, I do find it slightly contrary to my nature. Gazelles run long distances - lions make coordinated intense, high-power output sprints.

Of course, since I dislike distance running, I find it is the most important thing for me to make sure I do. Anyone can only do the stuff he or she likes. I just visualize tasty gazelle steaks to chase.

Oh yeah, and Kirk, Bloodsport Challenge accepted. It'll be like Karate Kid, Part II where Miyagi-san defeats Kreese in front of his Cobra Kai students.

I guess this is our answer to the question posted (June 30) on the Affiliate Blog:

"What's the 'mature' population like at your affiliate? Do you have any older members -- or run anything special for them?"

CrossFitNYC: If you can mature here, you can mature anywhere.

Are there any changes to the schedule this weekend for the, ah, holiday?

Normal schedule this weekend.

Awesome t-shirt!! But am I worthy to even wear it? :)

For anyone who wonders why we tell you to wait 2 minutes between heavy lift attempts, read the ATP-PC article.

Happy Birthday Jacinto. Looking forward to this WOD when I'm back in town. I just hope I don't finish slower than Jacinto.

Happy Birthday, Jacinto!

Speaking of broken feet, I have a pair of size 9.5 Mizuno Wave Ronins and size 10 adiZero Pros. Both have less than 20 miles on them. It just didn't work out: the Mizunos were slightly too short in the toe box and the adiZeros were too narrow. If anyone wants them, let me know. The adiZeros are what CFE recommends. The Mizunos are very light, but have a bit more heel than a racing flat.

Happy Birthday Jacinto!

Happy Birthday Jacinto!
Hope your ankle is getting better.

I have the Ronins, they are good if you have a wide forefoot like I do. Almost too roomy and a slight bit too cushy for my taste, but a nice, light racing shoe.

Oh, and depending on your personal taste, you may find yourself having no choice but to run super fast in them.

The principle is similar to the movie "Speed", except you're not risking your life by going too slow, just public embarrassment.

Happy birthday warrior!!

I would like to announce that I am leaving to run my 10k now. In case I don't post in the next few hours send an ambulance to pick me up because I will probably be somewhere dying in central park ;) kj, I really wish I was running with you tonight but I have to work

Jacinto - Happy almost birthday! I miss you!

And without Jacinto, I am the "most mature" on our Affiliate Team. This makes me laugh a little.

Jacinto, Happy Birthday man! cant wait to have you back at 7am.

Kirk, sweep the leg.

Aram, email me off line about the Mizuno's, I need some trail shoes. cmpuckett at gmail dot com

Happy birthday, Jacinto! I love that you're making your WOD a benchmark (for those that are new or don't remember, we got down a year ago with Jacinto's dirty 69! Same WOD, 69 of everything.) Might be nice to post the compare to for that, actually, Allison, if it's not too much trouble...?

I did this with my brother last year when he visited NYC - this time I'm visiting him in San Diego -- maybe we'll give it ago together again!

Hope you get better soon and can get back in to kick people's asses in the mornings!

65min... I am not a gazelle

Mizunos are spoken for. If anyone wants the adiZeros (size 10), let me know. Just to be clear, they're free.

Aram, I'm interested in the adiZeros if they're still available. Can you email me at tristan.242 at gmail? Thx.

Can this be scaled to celebrate, say, Jacinto's 50th birthday, or 30th maybe? :)
Have a great birthday tomorrow, J, and hope you are healing well.

email me too. i want to try a flat for cfe. let me know.

Ok, flats are claimed. And Happy Birthday Jacinto.

For those interested in working on running or just trying out your new shoes, I will be running my weekly Crossfit Endurance class on Sunday at 3 pm at the Brooklyn Box.

Stop by, get in some POSE drills and get your run on. It's all good (and free!).

Ran the 10k in the pouring rain.

Deliberately didn't push it to focus on form. My right calf is still a little tender. 54:12.

I got caught in the rain too. Miserable. Worst part about running in the park in the rain is having to ride the subway home completely drenched.

Great articles

Really new to this thing, but I'm still learning about this. This is a great thing that my friend recommended to me, I never getting involved with it but soon will be :D

Shoe lifts are wedge-shaped inserts that are placed in the heel portion of a shoe, with the intention of adding lift beneath one or both feet for therapeutic reasons. People who endure foot pain while wearing shoes for an extended time. Shoe inserts can alleviate suffering. Shoe lifts are also useful for those who would like to increase their height.
