    Effective Monday, August 3, we will be suspending 6:00 AM Weekday WOD Classes.
    Starting August 4, on Tuesday and Thursday, there will be a 6:00 AM Elements Class. Experienced members may (with Jacinto’s approval) work out on their own along side that class.
    We may soon offer a Beginners’ Class at 6:00 AM on Monday and/or Friday. If and when that class begins, experienced members will also be able to work out on their own during those 6:00 AM classes (with Jacinto’s approval).

    *The “standard” substitute for Wall Ball is either dumbbell or barbell thrusters. Since you can’t (or shouldn’t, anyway) actually throw the dumbells in the air, use about twice the specified ball weight (40 lbs or so instead of 20) and do them as explosively as possible . . . but it’s still quite different.

    Disappointed to hear that the 6 am class is being cancelled. Jacinto – Could I please have approval to come on Tuesdays and Thursdays to work out on my own? If the WODs are particularly technical I will come to the 7am, it is just less convenient.
    Also, any word on the 9am Saturday/Sunday classes that were being discussed a few weeks ago?

    If anyone want’s to do the wod at 6am you must be at the box at 5:45am so I could go thru the skills then you warm up on your own.If you can not be there at 5:45am please do not show up.I will not take the resposibility,if you don’t

    … had to have miscounted. It didn’t seem like it when I was in the middle of the WOD, and I watched Mike do it after I finished, and I was def. faster than him and took fewer breaks, and he got 13 rounds + change in… but damn.

    Just out of curiosity, how in the heck do you guys make it to the gym at 5:45am? By my calculations, in order to get 8 hrs of sleep you’d have to be in bed sawing wood before I’m even done w/ the 8pm WOD. The box could be surrounded by a moat full of sharks with lasers and I think I’d have an easier time getting there than having it be a 5:45 am. But I’m not really a morning person.

    I, for the life of me, cannot possibly justify waking up that early either. What’s so important that it has to be done more than six hours before the sun crosses the yardarm? I sometimes get in after that. Bars in Budapest stay open until 5AM. You people are fitness crazy.

    Transitions between exercises seemed to be the slowest part for me… I think it was mostly from being a bit dizzy from the GHDs.

    14 pounds is significantly heavier than 10 on the way down…
    I’m sad to see the 6am go, but i’d be even sadder to see the 5:30 disappear. Please don’t take it away! Anyway, at least the 6am will be there when I need it next Friday. I may see you at 5:45 on occasion, Jacinto 🙂

    5k, 27 even. Yes, I actually skipped the wod to RUN… Sub 20 seems a long ways away, but this is the fastest I’ve run a 5k….

    In answer to the earlier question, 6 PM isn’t too late. It’s just nice to have an earlier options, especially given how equipment fills up.

    I live a 10 minute walk away, so to get in at 6 am I would have to leave my apartment at 5:45-5:50ish. Since I shower post-WOD, that typically means I would wake up at 5:30. To get 8 hours of sleep, I’d have to go to sleep at 9:30ish.
    But really, the 6 AM class is only there when i have to be at work extra early, which typically means that not getting a full night’s sleep is already a given.
