Alright, people, I’m recruiting one female runner to round out a race team for the Ragner Relay from CT to Boston on September 11/12th.
    All the details are here:
I know literally nobody on the team, but it sounds like a blast, and I’d love to find a crossfit comrade to fill the last female slot.
kristen (dot) d (dot) jones (at) gmail (dot) com
If you have any interest let me know!

  • kj

Oh, and in case my post did not make this clear, I would be on the team as well 🙂

  • Grace

KJ, that’s awesome! I wish I could do it with you but I will be in Morocco then. I did the last Ragnar NY and it was so much fun. You are going to have a blast! Good luck!

  • Davi

    KJ – I emailed ya.

    Two Schedule-Related Questions:
    1) The 6:00 AM WOD currently averages 2 people, sometimes none. We are likely to suspend this class starting Monday, August 3. The alternative may be to offer a 6:00 AM Class on Mon, Wed, and Fri. (We intend to use the 6:00 AM time slot for Elements on Tues and Thurs). Experienced members may be able to work out on their own starting at 6:00 AM on those days that we are running 6:00 AM Elements and/ or 6:00 AM Beginners’ Classes. Questions, comments, violent objections.
2 We are considering moving the 5:30 PM WOD to 5:00 PM. We would leave the rest of the evening WOD’s unchanged making the weeknight schedule (5:00, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 8:00). Questions, comments, violent objections?

  • Josh

great blog I came across, simple and to the point:

  • kj

Violent objection to #2. I could never make it by 5pm, but I manage to make it by 5:30pm most days. That 5:30 class also makes things in the evening possible that are more difficult if I take the 6pm, as that means I will inevitably be a sweaty mess until 7pm.

  • Mike

Once in a while I’ll do the 6am if I know I won’t be able to make it in at night, as 7 cuts it a little too close for me.
So it’d be a bit of an inconvenience to not have that option, but I see how it makes sense if no one is there. No objection at all if I can do a WOD on my own on the off days I am there in the morning if there is another class running.
Nighttime change doesn’t really affect me since I don’t think I’ve ever even made the 5:30.

  • Tony

One-on-one CFE session with Brian this morning. Went over some new drills and realized that I need more practice on POSE technique.
Actual workout: Tabata intervals. 8 rounds: 30 seconds on; 20 seconds off. Hold your distance each round. I fouled three times. Brian gave Anthony the opportunity to mete out my punishment which he dutifully did.

  • I made the leap and signed up for the Ragnar Relay Race with KJ. Very nervous, very excited.

  • Kelly

allison – you and kj are both going to do awesome!!!!

  • Davi

    ankle-free WOD:
    7 rounds for time
    21 strict presses (55#)
    21 GHD back extensions
    tabata situps: 14, 12, 12, 11, 9, 9, 9, 8 (definitely not my best performance on these!)

  • Lisa

Allison and kj, that relay race sounds like a lot of fun.
Sending good luck thoughts to Torch, Kate and Kurt who are running the tough but fun Escarpment Trail race on Sunday – have a great time you guys and gal.

  • Today I like to watch The Young And The Restless.

  • Aram

I can just make the 5:30 and it’s the class I prefer to attend when I can get out of work early, but I would never be able to make a 5.

  • Brett_nyc

I’m enjoying a restful and sunny week in Hawaii.
Visited the CF Oahu box this morning for a little wod.
Warm up was max load TGU. Worked up to 95lbs BB, ties PR. ran out of time and didn’t try any heavier. Then…
    8 min AMRAP
    4 HSPU, forehead to floor
    8 KB swings @ 86lbs (pretty heavy)
    12 GHD situps
    5 rounds even

  • Justin K

I made up the “Filthy Fifty” but decided just to do 25 of everything.
