Hey, what's with the two numbers separated by commas in parentheses people have been putting at the bottom of their posts?

Brendan,

They are in reference to Hari's challenges. I think it signifies WODs done out of WODs posted... something with consistency

23:00

thanks to Kelly (Kellie?) for being my companion/inspiration/competitor this morning

her cheerful attitude during the runs reminded me that I don't have to be foul-mouthed while gasping for air

:)

And a word of ... I dunno ... wisdom, maybe?

Do not let the stairs slow you down. Or: do not do I as I did and persuade myself that I'd "rest" during the stair climb. They're not a rest, just blaze up the stairs and rest for a few breaths at the top if you need to. I think I actually lost a fair amount of time on those stairs. My final stair climb I ran as fast as I could up them and fared much better (didn't hurt to know that it was the end of the workout...)

Also, I would like to point out the importance of MANICURES for effective wall-ball throws.

ahem.

20:14 as rx'd.

oops!

I accidentally left about 2 lbs of flounder filets in the fridge this AM. I will be back to work out and pick them up tomorrow.

Brendan,

"Hey, what's with the two numbers separated by commas in parentheses people have been putting at the bottom of their posts?"

(# of WOD's done this year, # of WOD's done RX'd)

Or two sets of parenthesis denoting the first and second quarters of this year.

The splits strike me as sort of bizarre, assuming I recorded the times accurately.
1st row @ ~1:48/500m pace
finished burpees and into the fire escape @ ~3:00
back in the box @ ~6:00 (so 400m run + stairs was ~3:00)
2nd row @ ~2:03/500m pace
finished burpees and into the fire escape @ ~9:15
back in the box @ ~12:15 (so 400m run + stairs was ~3:00)
3rd row @ ~2:08/500m pace
back in the box @ ~18:31

Seems like the stairs and general running set up at Manhattan eats up a lot of time.

Overall, I thought the rounds were relatively close. The 500m row pace dropped. Not sure if my burpee or running pace picked up.

27:10 as RX'd...

Most people would consider the time subpar, but I'm happy.

This is sort of an anniversary WOD for me, because it was my first WOD out of elements just under 2 months ago (last time it was done was 090215, not in 2004...).

Reflecting back on the last 2 months of my life, I am very happy with how far I've gotten (even happier considering I had to take 3 weeks of the 2 months off due to family issues and a vacation to Paris). 2 months ago, I had to sub knee burpees and 250m rows to get through the workout and boy did it suck... Today I did it as RX'd.

When I came in to the beginner's class and Josh put me through a half-Cindy, I did about 21 legit push ups before collapsing and switching to knee pushups (which still sucked... I couldn't raise my hands above shoulder level for like 5 days afterwards!). Today I did essentially 63, all with full ROM (full extension to floor... albeit the form on the last set was probably ugly...).

My the difference 2 months (essentially a month or so of workouts due to all the involuntary down time...) makes...

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the trainers at CFNYC, and all the members for such a positive environment to train and get into better shape in!
