A wise investment is the book Starting Strength 2nd edition by Mark Rippetoe. If you don’t have a coach this book will help you understand the lifts. If you do have a coach it will point out how little he/she knows.

Only 1000lb deadlifter in history. That's a quick way to get that 1000# total everyone wants...or you could just do it with the 1200#+ squat this guy boasts...and he looks like he gets low. What a beast.

Following on Craig's post -- was definitely fun training with Brett and him. They always beat me on heavy days - but also always give me great motivation and numbers to chase.
