T minus 528 Hours, by Hari Singh
The new space at 25 W. 26th St. is an entire floor, approximately 4000 square feet. The rent is astronomical, so is the upfront security deposit. While we pretty much have all that capital lined up, we are still trying to finance the build out and a bunch of new equipment.
Many of our members have expressed a desire to invest, and at this time we are offering you a way to do so. Around the first of the year, we will be raising our membership rates between 10% and 17% (to $165 - $175 per month).
At this time, we are encouraging our current members to purchase one or more blocks of six-month membership for $750 each ($125 per month). By purchasing six, twelve, eighteen, or more months in advance, you will be getting a substantial discount and helping inject much needed capital into the business. If you currently have a six-month or an annual membership, any additional months will be tacked on when your current membership expires. If you are paying monthly, any six-month blocks you purchase will begin when your current month expires. We intend to find an appropriate way to acknowledge and thank those who purchase 12 months or more.
Question of the day: We need to sell at least 50 6-month memberships. Who is interested in buying and how many months?
Follow-up on Yesterday's Scheduling Question
We're leaning towards Option 2 (6:00, 6:30, 7:30pm) for the weekday-evening Workout of the Day ("WOD") classes. The advantages of this schedule are that it allows people an extra thirty minutes to get to the last class, and for those who want to get in earlier, it allows for two classes at or before 6:30pm. The decision is not yet final, so please continue to weigh in.
TODAY'S SCHEDULE:
Free beginners' class: 10am
Workout of the Day (WOD) class: 11am
Sunday 081109
Power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

Staci rocks the 2008 NYC Marathon (a relatively "short" run for her, Ms. Ultra-Distance Runner). All members should send me pics of themselves using their crossfit training to help them with other athletic endeavors.

Guys I am in for a full year -48 to go. Let me know how u want us to do the payment.
w00t! Go, Staci!
yeah Staci you dont even look like you are sweating! awesomne
I am down for 6 months, maybe a year. Sallie Mae can wait, right? :)
Looks like a great space, and such lovely floors -- that being said, what's the word on dumping the weight?
Option 2 for evening classes works for me, but I might be more inclined to make the morning classes. How early are you planning on opening up?
And are there plans for an open gym time in the late evening like there used to be for level 1 certified people?

Jordan, Michelle,
All good questions that will soon be addressed at length.
Hari, I assume you're referring to my e-mail?
Appreciated!
I'm good for 6 months. Looking forward to the new space.
I like the idea of 6 6:30 and 7:30 but why eliminate the 7pm class? A class every half hour from 6 to 7:30 seems like a great option. This way, every 30 minutes starts a new class.
it looks like a late 8pm class would be well attended. even tho I voted 2, an 8 class would be a great option as well.
JO,
Actually, I meant to write "Dan R, Michelle," but yes, I was also thinking about your email.
165, 175, 185, 195, 205, 215 (PR, not pretty)
Thx for the kudos - had a great afternoon that day, overcrowding and everything :)
125 inverted burpees? There is going to be an aweful lot of pain and disorientation tomorrow.
Super stoked for inverted burpees, going to my first 7am tomorrow!
i am guessing that you start with the push up and then jump up? i hav enever heard of this before. the whole thing sounds awful.
I would like to sign up for a 6-month package.
Nice post. Haven't had a chance to read this all in full but have bookmarked this page and will return. Keep up the good work!
