The other day I received the following email from Jacinto Bonilla, one of our trainers here at the Black Box:
Allison
on july the 3rd is my 69th birthday,
and at that morning I am going to put up my own WOD which is
69 squats
69 push ups
69 pull ups
69 wall balls
69 KB swings
69 DL 95/65
for warm up and cool down is to run easy around the block before and after the WOD.
maybe if you want to see if anybody else wants to do the same. I know it's not a rest day
But it's going to be fun
I am kicking my own ASS.
jacinto
Jacinto teaches the 7am class 5 days a week. That means he gets up at 4:30am every day to get from Brooklyn to midtown Manhattan. He's got more energy, kindheartedness, and fierce will and drive than just about anyone I know, let alone any 69-year-old I know.
I wrote him back and said I'd be happy to post his birthday WOD on the blog. Here's his response:
GREAT maybe we could give this WOD a namelet's call it GET down with jacinto's dirty 69
thanks Allison
So, it's official. Anyone who'd rather skip the scheduled HQ WOD:
Thursday 080703
With a continuously running clock do one pull-up the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute... continuing as long as you are able.
Use as many sets each minute as needed.
Post number of minutes completed to comments.
Compare to 080406.
is more than welcome to join Jacinto in his birthday WOD. Now whether or not you choose to wuss out and do your own pathetically puny age or to do 69 reps each is up to you...
Jacinto did his best Spartan/"300" imitation during the Super Fran workout last Halloween--as Rx'd!

Happy Birthday Jacinto! I'll be there in spirit as we fly out to Aromas CA for the CrossFit games in just a few hours, but I promise to do this one when I get back.
Have a great birthday workout, and we'll see you in California in a few days to celebrate!
For everyone else, the CrossFit Games standard of movements have been posted -- chest to the bar for the pullups, and no dumping on the deadlift.
Happy Birthday Jacinto!
Happy Birthday, Jacinto! Respect.
Happy birthday Jacinto! I believe you were doing CrossFit before there was CrossFit!
Jacinto, Sorry I missed your workout. Have a great birthday.

Happy birthday Jacinto! You are quite an inspiration to all.
If I were to come to the Manhattan or Brooklyn boxes around 2, will people be around. I get out of work half day today and would love to get a workout in.
34:20
sit ups instead of deadlifts
The wall balls were soul crushing.
By the way, some metal piece got knocked off the radiator located across from the bathroom door by a falling med ball. Could someone who knows something about radiators please take a look at that to see if it's important?
Happy Birthday Jacinto! You always were able to kick anyone's ass, including your own!
To those going out to the Games, good luck and have a blast!
Happy Birthday Jacinto!!!

Happy Birthday Jacinto!
A little announcement --
Tomorrow the Brooklyn Black Box will be having a little 4th of July get-together, during which we may grill some meat and will definitely drink some booze. Festivities commence at 12.30, and everyone's welcome!
See Sam's post on the Brooklyn blog for details --> http://www.crossfitbrooklyn.com/2008/07/bbbq.html
Happy B-day Jacinto!! I wanted to go to the morning class to see you but got home late and couldn't wake up in time.
"Dirty 69"
30:23 as rx'd
Did this with Joel(who kicked my ass, by the way! Nice job bro!!) at the 1230class. We included the 800m runs as part of the WOD as well.
Felt off today for some reason, even before I started the WOD. It might have been the steak tartare I had last night. A bit of a risk but it tasted good when I had it.
I love steak tartare!
There's a restaurant called Cafe de Ville in the east village that does an awesome steak tartare. They also have a decent wine list, you should check it out Kevin.
Ill definitely check it out Sam! Thanks!
I went to Cafe Noir after work, down in West Soho and have had it many times with no problems.
Just a note to say hi from Aromas Cali! Gillian and I have just landed and already ran into Coach Glassman and his wife, Allison NYC/Arizona/Alicali, as well as the guy from C2. Great day so far -- we're off to the games site to get a taste of that hill. Will let you know if it's really as bad as everyone says...
Happy Birthday Jacinto!!
Was at an Oly camp this week for 5 days! Hit several PRs!
Jacinto-at the risk of sounding redundant-happy Birthday-
every solid pushup I ever get I owe to you!
"chest to deck michelle"
you are the best!
now if I can only remember your "quarter" tip for my deadlifts i will be all set ;)
14 Rounds + 12 (PR)
Sorry I am so late to wish Jacinto a happy birthday. You are the man, Jack! Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us.
Happy Birthday Jacinto. I can't wait for Jacinto's Sadistic Seventy next year.
Jacinto's Dirty 69 with both runs: 28:30. Thanks for the pain and happy birthday, Jacinto!
Happy Birthday Jacinto!! Sorry I couldn't make it to this morning's class.
Jacinto - did your workout in 40:42. Everything was going great until the last round, pullups (we had to start staggered due to lack of equipment - I kicked off with wallball). That's when it fell apart into a grind... But at least today I can't raise my arms above my shoulders!
Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday Jacinto! Managed to pull a 29:50 on this one, but without the runs, since I didn't think they counted towards the time. Had a great time with the brooklyn crew as we finally have some ass-kicking music to workout with.
