46:50. Full RX. Wow those thrusters sucked.
Nice work, Jon.
Bad news on the climbing rope. Looks like the manufacturer hasn't shipped it yet, so it won't be here till Tuesday at the earliest.
42:34
31:02 as rx'd
so brutal. runs were abysmal and the thrusters were down to 4-5's. I did BFK pullups through all sets. Very fast, much less grip fatigue than trad. kipping, I just couldn't breathe.
Craig finished in 25 something...Jillian in 21 something, scaled
It was from hell. Brett is exactly right, "I just couldn't breathe." If I had it to do over again, I would have gone slower on the runs (or not done it at all). I don't think I've been this crushed since "Eva."
Did the WOD modified out of equipment concerns (only one O bar at Brooklyn), and b/c my hands are still torn up from doing "Helen" on Sunday.
Subbed the 95# Thrusters for "The Conch" slosh pipe. Subbed the pull ups w/ KB SDHP. Time - 20:49
my 2nd wod on my come back did it with
65lb. thrusters
20kg kb
kipping pull ups
running was hard but felt great.
41:40
If it was'nt for Dan R I think I would have done only
2 rounds .But he pushed me thru that 3rd round.God coming back is a bitch.
Once again thank you Dan.
where are the brooklyn box comments??
awesome door they got overthere.
Did today's workout with scaled thrusters (65#) but otherwise as RX'd. Will scale up as soon as my wrist is in better shape.
Total time for this workout: 27:40
Break down:
1. Runs were, well, typical runs but didn't get the split time. I just need to get faster here.
2. Kettlebell swings feeling much better after your advice Court -- I felt strong doing these and maintained consistency in the sets (broken up in 7's throughout).
3. Thrusters were good until the last set where I went from 3 sets of 7, to 1 set of 6, and then 5 sets of 3.
4. Pullups were done consistently in sets of 6, 5, 5, 5
Followed up this working with two additional 800m runs with Jacinto and Elise -- awesome effort both of you!
Thanks to Brian for all the good advice on Pose running.
Oh, and Elise, thanks for timing my attempt at a baby Fran today -- it was silly considering today's workout, but for the record I finished the first set of 21 pullups before calling it quits.
You know things have gotten rough when Fran is now "baby Fran."
First attempt at fixing Brooklyn Box comments was not successful. Will be trying out alternative strategies soon.
Saturday's WOD: 38:42 Sub 105 lbs, double-under attempts, less than full squats
WOD subbing Power Cleans. Why? No real excuse.
11:29
The double unders went really fast. Both rounds combined maybe accounted for 1:30
workout with Tyler at my favorite midtown globo gym!
can't stay away
in warm up did 12 kipping pullups in a row-PR
but dumb bc I "need to learn pacing" since by round two of warm up i had to do 3 at a time.
Tyler also told me that some metabolic conditioning would really help out too.
thanks!
10 rounds
3x 135 deadlift
5 x 40lb push presses (20lb dumbell each arm)
12 minutes. was much harder than it sounded. to me at least.
crappy deadlift form is back. like 3 out of 30 were good.
but the BEST part was that the guy in the FAT PIG shirt was there! at 9 am!
I thought he only came out in the evening!
I am pleased to report that though much time has passed since the last sigting, indeed he did not disappoint as he STILL continues to be a fat pig!
and for those of you who have been on the fence about buying one of those snazzy shirts- I can now report that it is clearly a versatile day to evening piece; truly a wardrobe staple that really is a must have.
for those of you who want one please email me and I will make sure to ask him next time if he can get them for us wholesale . I think I might have an "in" with him because as Tyler correctly pointed out, from all the staring at him that I do, the guy must think that I am very interested in getting to know him better.
I am not sure if the orange bandana comes with the shirt purchase, but if it doesn't i would say hold off on it if you are watching the budget bc it really is a seasonal piece.
