This will be our first WOD at the Cardboard Box that involves running where we can just step outside and run--no 4 flights of stairs to go down and then back up again. Should be awesome.

Anyone with too much free time on their hands (which seems to be a large portion of our membership) want to play around with Gmaps Pedometer to come up with our best running route?

Turning left out of the Box, veering the slight left onto Orient, and running from there to the corner (Olive) and back appears to be just a touch over a 400m. Having trouble coming up with anything closer to 400m, or an equally easy 800m route (aside from running back and forth twice) that doesn't route people through major traffic.

Thoughts?

Running to Olive, or just a before, seems like the best bet. If you wanted to go to the park just on the other side of Olive st then the full track (or path) is just about 400m. That may be a good choice for days with less rain, though.

I made it to the cardboard box to do Michael this morning. Court mapped out a 800 m route that worked out well. Turning left out of the box, slight left onto Orient, cross Olive (there isn't much traffic at that intersection given that they are just small side streets) and running halfway up Sharon and back brings you in at right about 800 m. Nice view of the park while you are running.

If traffic is heavy, it looks like circling the block is about .45 miles. We could probably work something where you make one circuit plus a little more and double back. Not the best, but it avoids having to slow at intersections and less chance that our times get hurt by being run over.

if you go left from the box you don't come to any streets at all, no intersections to cross. like they say in baseball SAFE

josh-when do u expect the new place to be up and running?

Look for more concrete news shortly, but we're hoping to have a Manhattan space running by the end of the month at latest.

subbed good mornings at 45#. Ran half way done the park street (sharon?) to a no parking sign next to a tree. Given that my first split was 2:30, I am guessing this is less than 800, probably 750 or so. None the less, I was happy with the time and glad that we didn't have stairs to negotiate.

First round all sets unbroken, 2nd was halves on the situps and 30-10-10 on the GMs. Last round was pretty choppy, but the breaks were short.

Thanks Erica, you and Rachel were great motivation.
