Moving News

All-

The moving process seems to be going about as smoothly as we anticipated, which is to say, it's a total mess.

We're still waiting on a change to the Certificate of Occupancy for our new space (with a special permit to be a 'Physical Culture Establishment') so we can move our stuff in and start knocking down walls. As odds are good that won't happen today, our Sunday move will be to put our stuff into temporary storage for a couple of weeks. We still need your help, so join us at the Box starting at 10:00am on Sunday.

After that, we're still scrambling for temporary space for workouts starting on Monday, so very worst case scenario will be a few days of working out in the park before we lock down an indoor temporary spot.

And, following that, we're still gunning for a mid- or late-month move into the new, large, permanent space at 30 W 37th. Hopefully, 5000 square feet of our very own will make the couple weeks of mess worthwhile.

Apologies to all, thanks for your patience, and if we can answer any questions in the meantime, certainly let us know.

What is the plan for Saturday? Are we packing/cleaning/moving stuff on Saturday or only Sunday?

Is the Sat morning the last Black Box version 1.0 WOD?

Excellent question.

SATURDAY:

10:00am - Last Beginner Class in Box 1.0
11:00am - Last WOD Class in Box 1.0
12:00pm - Pack It Up, Pack It In

SUNDAY:

10:00am - Move It Out

So all available members are to report for duty on both:
Saturday 12pm to pack until finished
Sunday 10am to move until finished.

Correct?

a question better placed here.. will my shoes be in the trash bin if I look for them tomorrow instead of this evening?

Dan: Absolutely correct.

Chad: As we're (relatively) nice people, we'll likely be simply packing up people's crap on Saturday and putting it into storage in a giant box on Sunday. So, pick it up today or tomorrow (ideally before 12pm), or you likely won't have any access to it for several weeks.

In so far (5): Hari, Justin, Leslie, Kurt, Moon

Who else is in?

Hari, I'm in!

as for MUUUUUURRRRPH 30:38. I could have broken 30 with a little better economy on the middle portion but I was pleased with the run times: 5:30 and 6:40 respectively.

Hey kids - I'm still out on the wrong coast (LA), but I'll help move when I get back to NYC. Keep me updated!

Brendan. That's fast. Nice job.

I guess the few weeks off will allow me to heal my broken body.

I could offer a place to do WODS for a few at a time when I am around in my building. If anyone wants to come over on Mon/Tues or Weds next week to workout on a nice gym and shake em up a bit thats cool. There is also a pool, steam, sauna, jacuzzi. I could be available in the morning/early afternoon until 2ish (Tues until 12).

Location: Upper West Side

I'm in for dinner, Hari.

Good luck with the move!!! Workouts in the park...just like the good old days...

Guys
I just got pulled into a project at work that might have me booked solid for 2 weeks. That means that it's not looking likely that I will be able to:
1) do Murph or attend movie night tonight
2) help pack on Saturday
3) help pack on Sunday
4) take the road trip to PVC this weekend
Of course, if everything Box-related is running late, text me and maybe I'll be done at work.

Box: im in for tomorrow
hari: im in for dinner
brendan: i'll say it again, you're a freak of nature.

i made up day b4 yesterday's wod
amrap 20 min
#65 thruster
pullups w gravitron (weird)

5 rds

2 mile run 22 min
(cooldown)

wow

Hari, I'm in.

See everybody Saturday and Sunday!

P.S.: Not that anyone needs to be bribed into helping with the move, but there will be pizza, beer, and Poland Spring water for all those who help.

And our undying gratitude, as well.

Hari, i'm in as usual.

Murph - 33:50 @ the East Village track

Miles were 6:14 and ~7:00. Shoe came untied during the first mile, if it weren't for that I might have pushed for the sub-6:00.

Murph - 48 and change. First time, but could have done much better. A few optimization's and I think I can shave 5 minutes off the time. Especially want to try doing squats whenever I want to rest my arms. Once my hands heal, I'll shoot for sub-40's.

In general, I intend to push harder on future WOD's -- pacing be damned.

Did a 1 mile swim to relax and then went to see Iron Man -- that movie was amazing, go, even if you don't care for the comic. The acting is fantastic, and make sure to wait for the credits to end. There's a surprise.

Murph 47:15. Could've done a little better on the 2nd mile, got a little winded towards the end.

Monday Afternoon....Since we're boxless, instead of the wod I'm hitting up my friend Lila's acroyoga class at om factory. www.omfactorynyc.com Anyone who wants to tag along, holler.
