that article on PCO is frustrating. just as an aside- the majority of women with PCO you can basically diagnose from looking at them-they tend to be very OVERWEIGHT, have thinning hair and yes hirsute (usually on face) and acne.
i don't see many of those women with a competitive advantage in any sport.

more importantly though I know its not the focus of the research it is nevertheless frustrating that anyone would suggest that there is anything "good" about having PCO because it is one of the top causes of primary infertility in women. I dont care what you are training for. there is no "cometitive advantage" to being infertile. I just think its irresponsible (?) when these tidbits of research come out and the real serious effects of the disease just arent stressed. bottom line-u dont want to have this. and if you have it-even if you are a world class athlete-you should have it corrected-if you ever want to have your own child. PCO makes that end goal -without a lot of intervention-extremely difficult.
my 50 cents.

"Heavy thrusters" fell out of the box!?!?! Who the F put that ball IN the box in the first place?! :)

Hari - Looks like your skillz in prognostication are lackin' 2 days running. (Good thing too as that Gore-swipe article was lame although the MEMRI clip the main site went with wasn't much better.)

My hockey team came back from a 5-1 deficit to win 7-6. I scored the tying goal by shooting the goalie, who was on top of the puck, into the net. Looks like last week's strength training is already paying off.

I'm totally going to post this in the testimonials section of the CF message boards.

Jeff - I think at least partial credit goes to the Five Guys burger and Mr. Pibb. True it probably had more to do with the strength training too.

Congrats! Way to represent!

oooo... just caught up with the news! congrats on the new space, that is awesome. i cant wait to come and drop heavy weights.

Michelle, I agree that is some really irresponsible reporting and science. Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Yo,
Been away for a while. I'm down in DC crewing a movie through May. I'm going to my old affiliate down here, and one of the members wants to join our crew for the summer. Glad to hear about the new space! Demo for time and moving for time sounds cool.

Just signed up for the Jacksonville cert! My credit card is seeing an awful lot of Crossfit this month!

Thank to Keith, Mike, Jeff and Sam for coming to my
1 year CrossFit anniversary / going away party.

You guys better miss me.

I'll be sporting a REAL tiara in my next video. Get ready for it :)

I think I'm going to hit the Box tomorrow for one last workout before I go. I'm also going to eat up a big piece of cake tomorrow because I'm starting a no sugar no bread thing as soon as I get to Cali

so when are we throwing the last day at the box party? ..i luv the box parties.

Guys, thanks for the great workout on Saturday, absolutely had a blast. I posted the pics on today's WOD on my site, www.potomaccrossfit.com.

Just wanted to give a shot out and a big THANK YOU to Marisela who so kindly volunteered to play football! She helped carry our team to its first victory!! AWESOME!!!

taking some people to visit pioneer valley crossfit this saturday, for their noon workout.

my car is full, but anyone wanting to drive up with us is welcome. (or maybe we can sort out some other kinda transport, if theres interest)

Thanks for tearing it up at the BB, Brian. How 'bout them stairs? Fun right?

Predictions:

I think tomorrow is going to be something like a filthy fifty (or perhaps Tabata Something Else). Then Wednesday a 5k run.

hey guys, sorry about the bad link up there for "10 ingredients" article. just fixed it.

Hiya kids - I'm in LA and off on a cruise this afternoon. No idea what the gym situation will be like onboard, but hope to at least do something active (burpees on the sports deck?) the next few days (yesterday's workout was 12 hours of walking around Disneyland dodging small children...I think that has to count for something).

Have a great week!

Safe travels A2, Juan, Staci.

Moon, although there's no link for it, the 1rm thrusters have come up before. I think you'll surprise yourself at how much goes up.

Moon,

These sorts of predictions are risky, and guessing the Rest Day Article is a real long shot(though I did do it once):

Moon- This from a man who likes all things heavy!

Won't be able to make it in much this week as moving was more difficult than originally anticipated and will require much cleaning up after work.

Also, under the heading "I'm Still Confused" on the left frame of the this website, there is a typo. Unless you really want a bunch of WoW gamers to stop by and take some loot. ;)

Brett glad you're making a good recovery.

A2-I'll miss fighting with you but I am sure you'll do plenty of things in Cali that will warrant me to blast you again! Be good out there.
