I dont know who saw this on the CF affiliates page but in case you thought CF was tough for yacheck out this story:

Ronnie Dickson of CrossFit Tampa.

"Ronnie was diagnosed with a rare bone-development disorder when he was young but played soccer all through high school and excelled with what he called a "peg leg". In 2005 he had to have his leg amputated above his knee. He started rock climbing at Vertical Ventures, the gym where I am leading some CrossFit classes, and in July he competed in the Extremity Games (Xgames for amputees). Ronnie placed second in the world in men's advanced bouldering, only losing to a guy who had been climbing 20 years and was able to use a prosthetic climbing leg. Ronnie didn't have a climbing leg.

Today I had him do the Filthy Fifty as prescribed, including box jumps, one legged lunges, and strict burpees. He did the workout without wearing a prosthesis, so he did it on one leg. The only substitution was that he wanted to do strict pull ups instead of jumping pull ups. His time was 40:13. That is ridiculous. He said his goal in a month is under 35 minutes. He also did a modified version of Cindy on Tuesday where we substituted sit-ups for squats and he did 41 rounds. His first round looked exactly like his last, the only reason he stopped was the time. Ronnie is a huge motivation for me and anyone he comes in contact with. When he is working out you can see everyone else in the gym going that much harder."

Well I for one am glad sarena checks them out and posts them for those of us who could get fired from our day jobs from messing around too much on the internet! Thx sarena! great story.

Not sure why you are getting defensvie. Not everything is about you. If i wanted to tell you something I would have posted to you.
Furthermore, before you make a snippy comment about my response to sarena's post and your post you might also want to have some relevant information and know that I am not talking about time management. I have plenty of "time to post her a few times a day" and "time to click 2 extra buttons".
I also happen to have a job as lawyer and three children-and time to help out my friends at the box-which include you and sarena.

In my office however, they keep track of the NUMBER OF DIFFERENT websites you hit during the day in addition to the number of the SAME sites you hit during the day. so actually one can get in more trouble trouble for visiting several affiliate pages in one day than they can for visiting crossfitnyc 3x times a day.

so as i said the first time-directed at Sarena-I am glad Sarena does the work snd posts it on our site so i don't have to search the affiliate sites while at work to see the "cool stuff" that is out there. Sarena vets and we benefit. You clearly have all the time in the world to devote to crossfit. That is lucky for you. My post however doesnt begrudge you that. It has nothing to do with you. It simply is an acknowledgement that those of us who dont thank Sarena for streamlining the material for us.

so lets keep it friendly. Especially on MLK day. :)

ok we don't get in "double trouble" at my office. just regular trouble.

So for the last 36 hours, I've been taking a steady stream of acetaminophen, smearing menthol on my back, sleeping lots, taking intermittent naps, and over-dressing to keep my back warm.

I can do a sit up in bed now, but not on the floor. Also, I can sort of get a hollow arch now, which I couldn't yesterday. I also had difficulty doing butterfly and hurdler's stretches yesterday and will try to test those again later to see if I've regained those.

Nothing about what I said was defensive. You must have misinterpreted what I was trying to say. The tone of things can get lost over the internet.

The point of me saying "the comment wasn't directed at you" was that it wasn't directed at you. It was a general statement to everyone who doesn't click on the affiliates blog because they don't have time or whatever the reason. I bet lots of people don't even go to the main site very often. I'm not saying that in a nasty way at all. I'm putting that out there because I feel like there's lots of stuff that everyone here can benefit from on the other site.

I'm just trying to be helpful if that wasn't clear. I didn't start checking the main site for months when I first started. I was only one here. There are lots of things to explore there. The affilitates blog is one of them and the message boards are another. You (everyone) might also enjoy reading other peoples scores in the comments.

But, now I feel like I should be defensive:

Consider this topic dropped. Not because I don't have the TIME to talk about it but because it's not worth the energy.

Man, I can't wait to get to California. People are so much more laid back out there. They don't get bent out of shape about silly things.

I forgot, another crowning achievement I've attained since injuring myself is now I can sort of put my pants on again (in a semi-normal fashion). Seems a little trivial to post that on MLK Day, but I'm remaining optimistic about tomorrow!
