Steve Cotter KB Seminar LOCATION CHANGE!

This is a final notice for everyone that has signed up or wishes to sign up for the Steve Cotter Kettlebell Seminar; there has been a location change from CrossFit NYC due to an increased number of participants. The new location is:
FIGHTHOUSE
122 W 27th St, between 6th & 7th Ave., 2nd floor.
212-807-9202
This is strait down 6th Ave (Ave of Americas) from CrossFit NYC, just 11 blocks (about 10 minutes walking) and then a right on 27th, down towards the end of the block, near 7th.
If you still wish to sign up for the seminar using Paypal, please go here. Otherwise, come early to sign up and pay cash or check at the door. The seminar will start promptly at 6:30pm, so we suggest you arrive a half hour early. Be prepared to work out a bit, so dress appropriately. We will have water on hand but it’s a good idea to bring your own. Also, if you have a kettlebell, we recommend you bring that as well, though we should have enough on hand for everyone. It’s just better to have your preferred size with you.
We are looking forward to a great workshop with about 3 hours of hard work and instruction.
Come get some!

    Sunday 070520
    “Nancy”
    Five rounds for time of:
    400 meter run
95 pound Overhead squat, 15 reps
    Post time to comments.
    Compare to 070428.
I figure I’ll post this here for people that want a little extra tomorrow. Also I want to make sure everybody reads Court’s post.
    See you all tomorrow night.
PS – I won’t be available for tomorrow’s Olympic Lifting class, but Josh or Mike will be there. Adam also said he would be there to show you how to do things. Keep it light so you have some energy for Mr. Cotter.

Oh the wonderful Cuban run, Its a good thing I need to conserve my energy for sunday nights activities.

  • Allison? Allie? A2?

I think everyone knows how I feel about running at this point. But, IF I did choose to try it where would we be running??
Sarena you should definitly join us, along with anyone else who has nothing to do from 1-6. Suggestions of things to do for 5 hours would be helpful.

  • sarena

Allison, since we have a long and fun nite tomorrow, am gonna take a yoga class in the am instead of CF. Will come over after class before 1 to join you ! C ya then.

A2 – We run to Cafe Havana, this cuban restaurant that is halfway up 38th street and back, so the stairs are included in the workout.
As hard as it sounds, I’ve heard a lot of people say that they had a good time doing this workout or that it was fun…it certainly is a case of misery loves company :) So, you should come and do it!

    Two interesting NY Times articles:
“Putting the Skinned Knees back into Playtime” is kind of like the childhood-play version of the CrossFit ethos:

“In Hell’s Basement” is about a venue for local boxing matches–I think we should have a CFNYC field trip to one of these:

See everybody tonight at the seminar! Woohoo!

Yeah, this workout isnt too bad actually… The stairs are really the worst part. Its always fun to climb up and down stairs after doing a shitload(actual CF measurement)of 95lb. OHS.

Very heavy traffic on i-80. Google says no way I can make it now. Best to pass Paul’s spot on to someone else. :(

I can’t believe I couldn’t make it to the seminar; busy all weekend doing stupid sh*t. Hope you all had fun and learned new ways to suffer.
Good job Dammit! Will you hate me if I tell you the only thing standing between you and a sub-1:30 500m is better technique?
    ;-)

Thank you for such a great seminar!

Could’nt do MU’s this morning. Subbed 10 jumping MU’s per round with rings 6 inches above my head.
Was out of it from yesterdays brutal but amazing Steve Cotter kb seminar. Thanks so much guys.
That was amazing yesterday although my hands look like they have been cut up by a sushi chef, but it was a blast.

  • Allison? Allie? A2?

Dan- I look like I was beat up last night. I have huge bruises on my arms from the KBs and one on my leg..
I had a blast with all of you at the seminar and at dinner. I’m happy to be part of such a cool group.

  • dan

I hear ya A2! I have blisters on my hands and bruises on the back of each wrist, but fun none-the-less. It was great hanging with y’all afterwards. I’m having a much deserved rest day today as I’m off to the Yankee vs. Red Sox game tonight. GO YANKS!!!
A2- Leg bruise? How did ya get that one? Squat practice?
